Gift shopping is hard. No matter if you’re shopping for a sibling, a longtime spouse, or a co-worker, the act of picking out the perfect gift can be overwhelming. What does she want? What doesn’t she already own? What color would she want it in? Is she allergic to anything? Does she like to read? What is her favorite scent? So many questions, so little time to buy.
To reduce your gift shopping stress this holiday shopping season, we’ve come up with a list of 50 awesome gifts (25 more than last year!) for all the different types of women in your life. From the home chef to the traveler to the one you don’t know that well, we have you covered. Here are Reviewed’s picks for the gifts women want in 2019, including some of the best stuff we’ve tested this year, many top-rated popular items, and things I personally own, love, and recommend.
1. For the busy home chef: Instant Pot
For the past three years or so, Instant Pots have been all the rage for both advanced home chefs and those who lightly dabble in cooking. What is an Instant Pot, you ask? It’s a multi-cooker! What does that mean? It does all the things. It’s a pressure cooker, a slow cooker, a rice cooker, a yogurt maker, a cake maker, an egg cooker, the list goes on. Perfect for the person who has limited counter space (they can replace all their other small appliances with this) and the person who has extra counter space (they can fit this gadget, along with the rest), an Instant Pot is a gift you really can’t go wrong with giving this holiday season. The most popular Instant Pot is the Duo, which we have tested and loved. However, the best Instant Pot and multi-cooker we’ve ever tested is the Instant Pot Ultra, which is more expensive, but totally worth it.
Get the Instant Pot Duo 6 Qt 7-in-1 Pressure Cooker from Amazon for $79
Get the Instant Pot Ultra 6 Qt 10-in-1 Pressure Cooker from Amazon for $105
2. For the one who likes being comfortable: Barefoot Dreams CozyChic Cardigan
This cardigan has over 2,600 reviews on Nordstrom and a 5-star rating. I own this myself and can confirm it is actually a comfortable blanket disguised as clothing. When it comes to cardigans and sweaters, the limit does not exist for the amount one can own. They make great gifts—especially when they’re this cozy (and chic). Not shopping for a cardigan person? Barefoot Dreams also sells a robe. Just saying…
Get the Barefoot Dreams CozyChic Cardigan from Nordstrom for $116
3. For the one who loves to travel: Away’s The Carry-On
You’ve probably seen this trendy luggage on Instagram, as it is a travel blogger favorite. The brand is also one of our favorites at Reviewed. When we tested checked luggage, Away won as our best hard-sided suitcase. In addition to that, one of our writers swears by her Away carry-on. It comes in nine different colors and looks much different than your average suitcase. My personal favorite is the blush color. If you don’t want to splurge on a suitcase as a gift for the traveler, consider a duffle bag instead. Sole Society’s Faux Leather Weekend Bag is a perfect, inexpensive option for the trendy traveler. I own and love it.
Get Away’s The Carry-On from Away for $225
4. For the one who is always cold: Canada Goose Jacket
Last year, I caved and bought a Canada Goose jacket. After many northeast winters spent shivering in my decently priced parka, I was ready to invest in warmth. I spent about two months shopping for a new coat—both in store trying stuff on and online reading reviews. Eventually, I went with the jacket that felt the most comfortable and warm and also looked flattering—a Canada Goose jacket. Yes, they are expensive, but I can confirm that they are worth the price. I used to refuse to go outside unless I absolutely had to on cold days, but my Canada Goose totally changed that. It feels like I am wearing a warm blanket whenever I go outside, blocking the frigid temperatures from touching my skin. If you you’re looking to splurge on someone who lives in a place where temperatures plummet to below freezing, a Canada Goose jacket is a great choice. I recommend any without fur on the hood, my personal choice being the Gabriola in black. Another nice option is the Kinley.
Get the Canada Goose Gabriola Water Resistant Arctic Tech 625 Fill Power Down Parka at Nordstrom for $825
5. For the commuter: Apple Airpods
Sure, Airpods may look bizarre when people wear them, but they’re wearing them for a reason. Apple’s cult-favorite headphones are the BEST true wireless earbuds our experts tested this year. If you’re shopping for a lover of all things Apple, they will adore a pair of these. For traveling, commuting, working out, and even listening to podcasts while loading and unloading the dishwasher, Airpods make a great gift.
Get the Apple AirPods with Charging Case from Amazon for $144
Get the Apple AirPods with Wireless Charging Case from Amazon for $169
6. For the fitness fanatic: Yoga pants
I swear by both Lululemon and Zella yoga pants. My top favorite yoga pants for everything are Lululemon’s Wunder Under pants. Whether I’m lounging on the couch, taking a barre class, or sweating profusely at spin, these high-waisted yoga pants are game-changers. No camel toe. No sweating through the pants. No itching from discomfort. They are definitely worth the price tag. My other favorite yoga pants from Lululemon are the Align Pant. Better for low-impact workouts and lounging, they are pretty much like sweatpants and by far, the most comfortable yoga pants I’ve ever owned. My third favorite is Nordstrom’s fitness brand Zella’s less expensive leggings. With over 6,300 nearly perfect reviews, it’s not just me who loves them.
Get the Lululemon Wunder Under Super High-Rise Yoga Pants from Lululemon for $98
Get the Zella Live In High Waist Leggings from Nordstrom for $59
7. For the bag lady: Madewell Leather Transport Tote
I had my eyes on Madewell’s classic leather tote bag for a long time, so I did not hesitate to purchase it when they came out with a zip-top version of it last year. After owning the bag for a year, I can safely recommend it as a great gift. The classic tote is big enough to hold all my stuff for work and stylish enough for me to use on weekends when I don’t have a lot in it. Plus the zip top makes it perfect for traveling (it’s great to use as a carry-on while flying). The bag comes in a few different colors. I have it in English Saddle, which is the option I recommend.
Get the Madewell Zip Top Transport Leather Tote from Nordstrom for $188
8. For the one who keeps asking about air fryers: Air fryers
Air fryers have been one of the trendiest kitchen gadgets for a while now. I mean, they offer a way to make home-cooked fried food that’s healthier than regular fried food. The Phillips Airfryer XXL is the best air fryer we tested and would make a great gift for anyone who likes to cook and eat semi-healthy, and of course, has extra kitchen counter space. If you’re not looking to splurge, but like the idea for a gift, consider getting them our best value pick—the Cuisinart AFR-25 Air Fryer.
9. For the book lover: The Amazon Kindle Paperwhite
The book lover in your life may already have a Kindle, but who doesn’t enjoy the latest and greatest technology the world has to offer? This is the best Kindle we’ve tested and over 12,000 reviewers on Amazon agree. Now waterproof with two times the storage, this is a perfect gift for anyone who likes to read.
Get the Amazon Kindle Paperwhite on Amazon for $109.99
10. For the one who loves their couch: Cozy throw blankets
Now that it’s officially “hide under a blanket and don’t come out until spring” weather, what would make for a better gift than… a blanket?! Doubling as decor and something to keep you warm, throw blankets are great for everyone. For a splurge, Barefoot Dreams, the brand that makes the amazing, comfortable CozyChic cardigan, has a CozyChic blanket! It comes in trendy animal prints and has a 5-star rating from over 275 people. Another option is Anthropologie’s Sophie Faux Fur Throw Blanket, which is loved by reviewers, having received a perfect 5-star rating from dozens of owners. For a less expensive blanket, this throw at Nordstrom is a wonderful option with a 5-star rating from over 1,400 reviews.
Get the Sophie Faux Fur Throw Blanket at Anthropologie for $98
Get the Barefoot Dreams CozyChic In the Wild Throw Blanket at Nordstrom for $180
11. For the music lover: The best portable Bluetooth speaker
If she loves listening to music, consider getting her the Editor’s Choice award winning JBL Flip 4 speaker. It is the best portable Bluetooth speaker we’ve tested, and it’s waterproof, so she can bring it and use it anywhere. A portable speaker is always great to have. Even if she might already own one, replacing old tech gadgets with new ones is always a welcome idea.
Get the JBL Flip 4 Waterproof Portable Bluetooth Speaker on Amazon for $89.95
12. For the coffee lover: The Technivorm Moccamaster Coffee Brewer
Here at Reviewed, we’ve tested all sorts of coffee makers. Drip, pour-over, cold brew, espresso machines, the list goes on. Because of this, we can safely say if you’re looking to splurge on someone who loves their coffee, look no further than the best drip coffee maker, the Moccamaster. Not only does it make a great cup of coffee, its mid-century, retro design looks fantastic on countertops. Not sure she’ll love the Moccamaster or looking for something a little more affordable? Check out our list of the best coffee makers we’ve tested this year. Perhaps a fabulous espresso machine or our favorite cold brew coffee maker would be a better choice.
Get the Technivorm Moccamaster Coffee Brewer on Amazon for $299
13. For the one who spends too much money on fitness classes: ClassPass Membership
If you’re shopping for someone who’s into all sorts of exercise and fitness classes, a gift card to ClassPass is a perfect gift idea. With a ClassPass membership, they can take fitness classes at different studios and gyms that participate with the program (like Pure Barre, Flywheel, CorePower Yoga), instead of belonging to one gym or buying class packs at a single studio. Perfect for anyone who likes to try new things, this gift would be much appreciated.
Get a ClassPass gift card at ClassPass in any amount
14. For the homebody: UGG Slippers
Uggs have been around for years, and although the boots may have fallen from fashion grace years ago, the slippers never went out of style. After all, Uggs are comfortable. With thousands of four to five star reviews on Nordstrom’s Ugg slipper listings, it is clear that the people agree. The Ansley Water Resistant Slippers are perfect for the simple, comfortable one who would wear these shoes anywhere, and the Scuffette II Slippers are great for the one who would probably only wear them at home. Speaking from experience, you can’t go wrong with Ugg slippers as a gift. In the past six years, I have given a different pair of Ugg slippers to my mom, grandmother, grandfather, husband, and brothers—and each time, they were a hit.
Get the Ansley Water Resistant Slippers from Nordstrom for $99.95
15. For the simple one: Kate Spade pendant necklace
If the person you’re shopping for is simple and timeless, this Kate Spade pendant necklace could be perfect. It can be dressed up or down and is personalized with the initial of their first name displayed in the pendant. This necklace has 850 reviews with a 5-star rating, so people clearly love it. Not to mention, necklaces with initials on them are very much on-trend right now.
Get the Kate Spade New York One in a Million Initial Pendant Necklace from Nordstrom for $58
16. For the home entertainer: Capri Blue Volcano Jar Candle
If she loves home décor and entertaining guests, you can never go wrong with a candle as a gift. My favorite candle by far is Capri Blue’s Volcano scent. Not only do they smell amazing, but they come in chic jars that double as amazing home decor. Anthropologie sells tons of styles for Capri Blue candles (some even holiday themed), but my go-to’s are the jar candles in blue and white. I have them all over my home.
Get the Capri Blue Volcano Jar Candle from Anthropologie for $30
17. For the one who has a lot going on all the time: Gravity Blanket
Literally everyone is talking about weighted blankets right now. The people love them, and the people want to be under them for the entirety of winter and beyond. Not just because they’re warm, but because they can help you relax. The best weighted blanket we tested was the ultra popular Gravity Blanket. Gravity claims their blanket is like wearing a hug, and what better gift than a giant, welcomed hug for the holidays?
Get the Gravity Blanket from Gravity for $199
18. For the nostalgic one: Fujifilm Instax Mini 9
This adorable camera is a great gift for people who love not only taking pictures but HAVING pictures. I bought and used the Instax Mini 9 at my wedding last year for guests to take photos of themselves, and since then I’ve used it on vacations and at parties. Great for adults, college students, and teens, this Fujifilm camera is an excellent gift.
Get the Fujifilm Instax Mini 9 on Amazon for $53.63
19. For the one who wants to upgrade from iPhone photography to actual photography: Panasonic Lumix LX100
Recommended by one of our tech experts, this camera is perfect for beginners. If she’s pretty good at taking smartphone photos, consider giving the gift of real photography this year. Though there is an updated model, the LX100 is still a great choice given the price.
Get the Pansonic Lumix LX100 on Amazon for $597.99
20. For the VSCO girl: Hydro Flask Water Bottle
What in the world is a VSCO girl, and how do you know if you’re shopping for one? Let me explain (or try). VSCO is a popular photo-editing app, and “VSCO girl” is a term for teenage girls who dress and act a certain way, and also probably use VSCO. She wears scrunchies. She rotates between Vans and Birkenstocks. She rocks pukka shell necklaces like it’s the early 2000s again. And she loves her Hydro Flask, as well as the environment. We may not be VSCO girls here are Reviewed, but we sure do love our Hydro Flasks too. When we tested water bottles this year, the Hydro Flask came in first place as the best option. Whether you’re shopping for a VSCO girl or not, a Hydro Flask makes a great gift for anyone who, well, drinks water (especially those who need to stop drinking from plastic water bottles, so me).
Get the Hydro Flask Standard Mouth Water Bottle on Amazon for $34.95
21. For the one who is always on-the-go (and also, for the VSCO girl): Fjällräven Backpack
Another VSCO girl- and Reviewed-approved product: The Fjallravenn backpack! Not only are these backpacks trendy and useful (with hundreds of 5-star reviews on Nordstrom), but they are also functional and great quality. The brand makes our favorite casual backpack out of all the ones we tested, so we can safely say this is a great buy. No matter her age, a backpack is always nice to have, for school, work, traveling, and commuting.

Give her the gift of our favorite smartwatch so she can have all of her notifications, music, and texts at her fingertips all the time.
Get the Apple Watch Series 4 Smartwatch from Amazon for $349
24. For the one who hates jeans: Madewell Jeans
I thought I hated jeans until I discovered Madewell jeans. They’re comfortable, they’re slimming, they never rip, and they’re a great price. Madewell also has sizes for all—petite, tall, curvy, etc. If you’re not sure what kind to get, I recommend a classic 10-inch (not too low-waisted, but not too high, either) in a solid color dark wash, like Hayes Wash. These are my go-to every day jeans. Read more about why I’m obsessed with Madewell jeans here.
Get the Madewell 10-Inch High-Rise Skinny Jeans from Nordstrom for $128
25. For the one who loves to cook: Staub Dutch Oven
You’ve probably heard of, seen, or owned a Le Creuset dutch oven. They are one of the most popular wedding gifts for newlyweds and, like KitchenAid stand mixers, a kitchen staple for adults everywhere. However, when we tested dutch ovens at Reviewed, our favorite overall was not Le Creuset—it was Staub! We’re not the only ones loving this brand, either. Their cookware is all over food blogs and Instagram. Clearly these dutch ovens are hot right now, so get one for the person in your life who loves cooking. If you’re stuck choosing a color, I recommend the black or cherry red. I own Staub cookware in both these colors and love them.

26. For the one who should cook more: Home Chef meal kits
For those who have busy schedules and order more takeout than they probably should, a meal kit delivery service would be an excellent gift idea. Our favorite meal kit delivery service at Reviewed is Home Chef. Cassidy Olsen, cooking editor and tester of meal kits, summed up the service perfectly: “High-quality ingredients, well-written recipes, and fantastic flavors make the Home Chef experience one you’ll want to integrate into your weeknights.” If you’re shopping for someone who enjoys home cooked meals, but lacks time in their week to prep and make them, give them the gift of easy weeknight dinnerss with a Home Chef gift card.

27. For the neat freak: Dyson Vacuums
If you want to splurge, look no further than a Dyson stick vacuum. Best for people who keep a clean home, or at least try to (whether they like doing it or not), our favorite vacuum—the Dyson V11 Torque—would make for the ultimate gift. If that’s a bit too much of a splurge, we also love the Dyson Cyclone V10 Absolute. I got a Dyson vacuum as a wedding gift, and it has been a game-changer. Both because it’s really good at cleaning, and because I feel extremely sophisticated owning a coveted Dyson product.

The Eufy RoboVac 11s is the best affordable robot vacuum we’ve ever tested and would make a great gift for anyone, whether they enjoy cleaning or not. While the Eufy is definitely more of a splurge at over $200 in price, the best robot vacuum we’ve ever tested is a splurge multiplied by 10. For $799 (a $300 discount), you can give the gift of our favorite robot vacuum—the iRobot Roomba i7+. No matter what your budget is, a robot vacuum is always a good choice.
29. For the planner: A 2020 planner
If you know someone who is a planner, why not give them the gift of an actual planner? These cute planners from ban.do, Anthropologie, and Rifle Paper Co. are fantastic options. The gold ban.do planner is plain, but also slightly fancy. The Anthropologie planner is art-deco themed for the return of the roaring ’20s, making it perfect for those who are artsy and chic. 30. For the one who Instagrams pictures of food: A cheese board
Last year, I stole my mom’s cheese board. Well, I didn’t mean to steal it—I borrowed it for a party I was hosting and then I just never gave it back (she got a new one, it’s fine). I have now used this cheese board for multiple gatherings and events and every time, people compliment its rustic vibe. The best part about it is that it’s not JUST a cheese board. Yes, it can function as one, but it is a lazy Susan and a cutting board, too. If you know someone like me who enjoys cheese, hosting, and taking pictures of charcuterie boards to post on Instagram, you can get them the cheese board I have from Wayfair!

32. For the one who lives where it snows: Winter boots
If you’re shopping for someone who is going to have to deal with snow this winter, a new pair of winter boots would make for a smart gift. UGG sells a fantastic pair of boots named Adirondack III that I own, love, and recommend as a great gift for 2019. I even wore them when it was freezing and there was no snow on the ground. They’re warm, comfortable, and easy to put on and take off, and they go with just about every outfit. Other options include the extremely popular Sorel Joan of Arctic snow boots that have a 4.5-star rating from over 775 reviews and of course the cult-favorite Bean Boots from L.L.Bean.

33. For the one who walks a lot: Birkenstocks
Birkenstocks have slowly been making a comeback the last couple of years, along with the rest of the ’90s, and they are once again a summer footwear staple. I own two pairs of Birkenstocks and pretty much ignored the rest of my shoes in favor of them all summer long. Yes, they are trendy, but wow they are the most comfortable shoes you will ever own. Birkenstocks would make a great gift for anyone, especially if they have plans to travel somewhere warm this winter. Black and white Birkenstocks are your best bet when it comes to colors (white Birks were sold out everywhere all summer long), and the Copper Leather color is trendy and goes with everything, too. The one who loves beauty products and having fabulous hair would love the trendy Beachwaver rotating curling iron as a gift this year. When we tested curling irons, the Beachwaver S1 came out on top as our favorite. Our main takeaway? It’s “an awesome rotating wand with a tiny clamp that cuts styling time in half.” Beachwaver also came out with a pro line that we haven’t tested yet, but is loved by Nordstrom reviewers. The Beachwaver Pro Line 1.25-Inch curling iron has 4 stars from over 140 reviewers.

35. For the makeup aficionado: A lighted makeup mirror
If you’re shopping for someone who’s into makeup, it can be hard to get them actual products if you don’t know what they would want and actually use. Something easy to get the makeup lover in your lfie, though, would be an accessory that enhances the experience of putting makeup on: a lighted makeup mirror! Home decor is never an easy thing to buy for someone else. However, if you’re familiar with the decor the person is into and the colors in their home, you are probably safe to try. I recommend going with throw pillows that are comfortable, come in neutral colors, and are not something the person could easily buy for themselves at Home Goods or Target. A great place to find quality throw pillows that make great gifts is Anthropologie. I splurged on two throw pillows from Anthropologie last year and I absolutely love the way they look and feel.

44. For the trendy one: Rent the Runway membership
Rent the Runway’s Unlimited service is a great gift for a number of reasons. First, it’s perfect for fashionistas who love wearing new clothes but don’t have unlimited funds to buy new clothes all the time. Second, it’s great if you have a lot of events or weddings coming up, because you can rent an outfit for the occasion, rather than buy. And third, it helps if you have to look nice every day for work. If you know someone who would love a designer closet without the price tag or commitment, give them the gift of Rent the Runway. I’ve been an Unlimited member for almost three years now, and it has truly been a game-changer for me.

46. For the one you live with: Peloton (…because then you get to use it, too)
Last year, I got the Peloton bike to test, and it was life changing. So much so that my husband and I bought it, leaving it to sit proudly in our living room and up a gigantic area of our small apartment, but we don’t care. We love it that much. The Peloton is a cycling bike with a tablet screen that displays live and on-demand classes. As a former Soul Cycle addict, I can tell you that after taking Peloton classes, I no longer consider Soul Cycle a legit workout. It’s a fun party compared to every single Peloton class I’ve ever taken. If you’re shopping for a fitness studio enthusiast, this is a perfect gift. You feel like you’re in a studio surrounded by others, but you’re AT HOME. And the whole family can use it. Working out does not get more luxurious than this.

47. For the sentimental one: Printed pictures or a photo book
Nothing says “thoughtful gift” more than printed pictures. Now, put those photos in a frame, in a book, or on a calendar and you will have taken that thoughtful gift to the next level. Whether you’re putting one photo of you and the person in a frame or you’re creating an album of a sentimental event or time period, you absolutely cannot go wrong with an in-real-life photo-themed gift. Shutterfly is our favorite online photo printing service at Reviewed. We love their high-quality prints and the wide variety of photo-themed gift options they have available. For high-end wedding and baby albums, modern custom calendars, and frames, Artifact Uprising is also incredible. Last year, my husband and I made our parents their own layflat albums of our wedding as holiday gifts and they absolutely loved them.

48. For the one who is always smiling: Sugarfina Champagne Bears Candy Cube
Sugarfina candies are not like regular candies. They are cool candies. But really. With flavors such as bourbon, rosé, and champagne, it doesn’t get much fancier than this. Last year, I gave my bridesmaids these candy cubes as a gift and everyone loved them (including me). They are an adorable, inexpensive gift.

49. For the one you have no idea what to buy: Sephora Favorites Holiday Perfume Sampler
If you ever get stumped on what to give your wife, sister, girlfriend, mom, friend, etc, my go-to gift recommendation for all women is a Sephora perfume sampler. Ten years ago or so, my grandmother bought me this as a gift and it honestly changed my life. I knew nothing about perfume, but I was able to dabble in a few best-sellers thanks to this kit. When I was done, I picked my favorite and redeemed the coupon in the gift set for a full-sized bottle of it. Even now that I know about perfume, I would still welcome this gift, as it’s not every day I get to try new fragrances.

50. For the picky one: Gift cards
Shopping for some people can be hard. I get it. I am that person who is hard to shop for. I expect people to read my mind and know what I want without me having to tell them. Being this type of person, I can tell you first hand that GIFT CARDS are the way to go when shopping for a gift critic. I love a good gift card. Spending money is my favorite hobby, and if you know someone like me, I guarantee they will love the gift of spending someone else’s money. Here are some great gift card options (take notes, people who get me gifts. I’m just kidding, no one buys me gifts, but in a perfect world this is what I would want).
